Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization, Island Harvest provides food and non-food items for people who are hungry and in need, giving them a voice to help them transition from uncertainty to stability.  Island Harvest’s mission is to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island through efficient food and product collection and distribution systems; enhanced hunger awareness and nutrition education programs; job training targeted services for specific populations, and outreach and advocacy activities and initiatives.  Island Harvest is the region’s lead agency in emergency response readiness for food and product distribution and support and is a member of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.

Island Harvest Food Bank will host its 19th Annual Golf Classic at one of the region’s premier golf courses, The Creek Club in Locust Valley on Thursday, August 6, 2015.  This fundraising event will honor Long Island businessman Frank Beyrodt of DeLea Sod Farms.  Island Harvest is pleased to honor Frank for his personal commitment and dedicated efforts to address the organization’s mission to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island.

The Classic will begin at 11:00 a.m. with brunch and registration, followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start and will conclude with a Beach Party and Awards Celebration at 6:00 p.m. overlooking the Long Island Sound.
