When I came across the article about hacked traffic signs, I wasn’t sure how to find the business lesson here. So I decided it was more of an overall life lesson: Pay attention.
On a Wednesday evening in May, most motorists ignored the traffic sign. Those who paid attention however saw messages like “Godzilla Attack!”, “Turn Back”, “City Closed” and “Toro Damn Hot”. The temporary signs were put in place by Pacific Highway Rentals.
The company’s reaction? They smiled when receiving the calls alerting them the following Thursday morning. Apparently, the signs are programmed from a box on the sign – the lock is easy to pick and the sign is easy to program.
The lesson learned? For the company, it’s probably time to invest in better locks. For the drivers who missed an evening chuckle? Pay more attention when you drive. Hope you smiled reading today’s post.
